Dr. Mark Kraver graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1985. Upon graduation, he chose to begin his career by serving in the United States Air Force. As a Captain, he received advanced training in all aspects of dentistry, which led him to being named department heads of both Periodontics and Endodontics at Tinker AFB.
It was always Dr. Kraver’s dream to move back to Florida, where he spent most of his childhood. After his time of service was completed, he finally moved his family to Southwest Florida in 1988. Since his return, his commitment to quality dental services and patient comfort has made Cape Dental Care into one of the most established and respected dental practices in Southwest Florida.
Dr. Kraver has pursued over a thousand hours of continuing education in practically every field of dentistry. He is an alumnus of some of the most renowned dental education centers in America including the Pankey Institute, the Dawson Center, the Hornbrook Group, and Dr. Arun Garg’s Implant Series. Dr. Kraver was considered a pioneer in laser dentistry when he purchased his first dental laser nearly 20 years ago. Today he utilizes his expertise in laser dentistry for a wide variety of procedures, from accurately detecting cavities(diagnoDent) to laser-assisted root canals(PIPS).
Dr. Mark Kraver is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast District Dental Association, Lee County Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Kraver and his wife, Nita, have raised three beautiful grown children who are now starting to grow families of their own. He has many interests and hobbies including photography, videography, writing, landscaping, fishing, horticulture, snow skiing, and of course birds. His most recent past time is writing for our office’s dental blog. Dr. Kraver has utilized all of his creative talents to make Cape Dental Care a unique and worthwhile experience. He is living his dream every time he comes to the office.
Dr. Phillip Kraver is the oldest son Dr. Mark Kraver. He was 6 years old when his family moved to Cape Coral. He grew up boating, fishing, and playing numerous sports all over Lee County. He is a graduate of Fort Myers High School, the University of Central Florida, and the University of Florida College of Dentistry, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also received an Honors certificate in Prosthodontics for completing a rigorous course-load of studies in all areas of advanced prosthetic dentistry.
After graduation Dr. Kraver chose to further his education by completing a General Practice Residency program at the Medical College of Georgia. There he studied full mouth implant reconstruction, computer guided dentistry, bone grafting techniques, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and IV conscious sedation. Dr. Kraver’s passion for dentistry is obvious in the way he treats and educates his patients. He enjoys creating personalized treatment options to help enhance and restore your teeth to their optimal beauty and function.
Dr. Kraver is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast District Dental Association, Lee County Dental Society, and American Society for Dental Anesthesia. He is also pursuing fellowship status in the International Congress of Oral Implantology and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Kraver and his wife, Jenny, have two beautiful daughters. As a family they are very active with their church and the local community. His interests are playing with his kids, photography, boating and fishing, reading, web developing, playing with his kids some more, and watching college athletics. Go Gators!
